The chalet «Le Clapotis» (this word means “splashing of the waves”) is situated right in heart of the Swiss Jura on the shore of the Lac de Joux, (elevation 1000 m). It is a 5 minute walking distance (of 5 minutes) to the next train station “Esserts-de-Rive”.

A thousand metres up, the Joux Valley is a real natural jewel, studded with lakes, greenery and forests ; among the surrounding peaks, the Mont Tendre reaches 1.679 metres.
Here, nature shows exceptionally lush and varied vegetation, a walker's delight for specialised botanist or fresh air seeker.

This spacious land is still the home of a wide variety of fauna, including the "grand tetras" (wood grouse).

In the Parc Jurassien Vaudois, one of Switzerland's largest nature parks, the walker passes through immense pine forests, home to teeming ant colonies, fascinating to watch.

The Joux Valley is the cradle of intricate prestige watchmaking. Names like Audemars Piguet, Blancpain, Jeager Le Coultre, and Breguet have achieved worldwide renown.

You'll discover the history of this highly specialised art and guided across time at the "Watchmaking Space of the Joux Valley".
